Dove Shooting - Cordoba, Argentina
BIRD HUNTS
“Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.”
-Genesis 27:3-
The most popular area for dove shooting in Argentina during the past twenty years is Cordoba, right in the huge grain growing area that attracts millions of doves. More American and international hunters have hunted this province than all others combined. The government estimated more than 35 million doves in this area at one time. Although the doves are now ranging over a wider area of Argentina than in the past, Cordoba still has the largest number of annual hunting visitors than any other spot in the country.
You can arrive in Buenos Aires, transferring to the connector one-hour flight to Cordoba, or arrive directly in Cordoba. Some enjoy spending the first day in Buenos Aires, looking at the gigantic city known as the “Crown Jewel” of South America. There are lots to see and enjoy here, and a large number of our folks decide to spend the first night in Buenos Aires! Once you land in Cordoba, our host team, led by Manuel Lainez and Oscar Valdez, will meet you, grab your luggage and hustle you off to your estancia. We have two estancias to host you in Cordoba, Las V and Estancia Las Paloma. Both were built from scratch by Manuel and his team, and are well placed, comfortable lodges, each with six rooms, equipped for double occupancy.
The day here starts comfortably in the morning, with a full breakfast cooked to order, followed by a comfortable ride to the dove fields. You will shoot the morning flight, followed by lunch, cooked in the field. This barbecue, or Asado, in Spanish, consists of tenderloin, sausages, salads, and Argentina baguettes, complete with your favorite beverage. While you’re finished up on your lunch, the host team will be setting out comfortable cots for your short afternoon nap while the birds are napping, too! As the flights pick back up, you will return to the stand to be challenged by the rocket-fast, artful dodging doves flying all around you. Most of the hunts are in the hills, so you can see the birds approaching from every angle, including those coming up the hill at you.
This is a classic hunt and can accommodate just about any number of people. There are significant discounts for those in groups of 10 to 12 hunters. The accommodations and comfortable environment are well suited for couples, ladies' groups, and father/son/daughter groups.
