Duck Shooting - Buenos Aires, Argentina

BIRD HUNTS

“Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.”

-Genesis 27:3-

Although far from the city's bright lights, the province of Buenos Aires hosts some of the best duck hunting available in the world. In addition to hunting from May to August, when it’s summer in the USA, Argentina offers an exciting variety of ducks and lots of them. The shooting is done on freshwater sloughs and ponds on the vast acres of farmland in this area. You won’t find any mallards, but you will enjoy the rosy-billed pochards, yellow-billed pintails, Cinnamon teal, Chilean wigeon, white-faced, and fulvous whistling ducks, speckled teal, silver teal, spot-winged teal, and white-cheeked pintails. It’s a beautiful and interesting array of waterfowl and just as challenging as hunting ducks anyplace in the world.

You will fly into Buenos Aires on one of the many available flights. The flight is overnight from the USA and north/south, so no jet lag, and you arrive early in the morning. Our team will be at the airport to meet you, handle your bags, and get you either to a local hotel for a one night stay in Buenos Aires, a beautiful and busy European city set in the middle of South America, or to your lodge, Estancia La Taba, roughly an hour and a half from the international airport. If you head to the lodge, it’s possible to hunt the afternoon you arrive. Our lodges are all excellent, with great food and comfortable accommodations. In addition to our lodges within an hour and a half from the airport, we also offer Estancia Santa Rita, the legendary Estancia Santa Rita, one of the best-known hunting facilities in Argentina. Beautifully appointed and teaming with a great variety of ducks, this lodge is located southeast of Buenos Aires and can be reached by van with a five-hour drive or charter air.
