La Finca Lodge has been a popular stop for wingshooting sportsmen for a very long time. It shut down close to 15 years ago but was reopened and refurbished by Steve McCain, Jr in 2014. It quickly picked up its former popularity and is certainly the most popular combination bird hunting operation in eastern Mexico. Located on the skirts of San Fernando, in Tamaulipas, it's just under a two-hour drive from the airport at Brownsville, Texas. Steve has our clients picked up at the baggage claim area of the Brownsville Airport either on Thursday morning or Sunday afternoon. This is definitely one of the best hunts anywhere in the world for anyone with a shotgun. If you can arrive in Brownsville by 10:30 am, you will hunt that afternoon, all day Friday and Saturday, and Sunday morning. We’ll get you back to the airport in plenty of time to make a flight after 4 pm on Sunday. If you prefer, we will pick you up around 4 pm on Sunday and take you back to the lodge for drinks, snacks, and dinner, shooting all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll have you back at the airport Thursday morning, in time for a flight around 11 am. This schedule works for both the white-wing dove season, August to October, and the combo season, from November 1 to March 3. With its fully stocked open bar and 14 individual rooms, the lodge is one of the best lodges in all of Mexico, with Wi-Fi, a pool, Jacuzzi. During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to hunt wild Bob White quail, mourning doves, geese, and lots of ducks. Enjoy the great shooting, great food, and great amenities.
